Was ist Bachata? Bachata ist ein traditioneller Tanz der Domenikanischen Republik, ein Paartanz, der auf leading-following basiert und in einem 4/4-Takt getanzt wird. Während das traditionelle Bachata in einer engen Tanzhaltung getanzt wurde, fügten modernere Interpretationen offene Positionen, mehr Bewegung und Fussarbeit hinzu. Inzwischen enthält Bachata eine grosse Auswahl an Bewegungen und Stile einschliesslich Salsa footwork und Drehungen und ist sogar vom Tango, Kizomba, Zouk, Baalroom und zeitgenössischen Tanz inspiriert.

What is Bachata? Bachata is a traditional dance of the Dominican Republic, a couple dance based on leading-following and danced in 4/4 time. While the traditional bachata was danced in a tight dance posture, more modern interpretations added open positions, more movement and footwork. Nowadays Bachata contains a wide range of movements and styles including Salsa footwork and turns and is even inspired by Tango, Kizomba, Zouk, Baalroom and contemporary dance.
